Knee pain might be the result of sprains and strains of certain structures examples including but not limited to: patella femoral syndrome, ACL/MCL sprain, patellar tendinitis, Osgood Schlatter disease, wear and tear to the menisci (including arthritic changes), surgical repairs to the menisci, ACL, MCL, PCL, and a total knee replacement. Patients experiencing knee pain, or who have had surgical repair, should expect exercises to strengthen, training in balance and gait, manual therapy to regain normal range of motion and reduction in pain.
