Hip pain may be the result of many reasons. Some include, sprains and strains of various structures of the hip. Hip impingements, hip bursitis, wear and tear including arthritic changes, and surgical repairs of the hip.
A patient coming to therapy for their hip should expect a thorough examination of both their hip as well as their low back (often times, the low back may refer pain into the hip and vice versa), specific exercises addressing any weakness and range of motion, core strengthening in addition to manual therapy.
